DescriptionIt is said that the Shinmei-sha Shrine was found in 970.
It is one of the most historic shrines in Yokohama city.
In 1225, at the beginning of the Kamakura period (1192-1333), the shrine was removed in response to a divine oracle.
Afterward, the shrine consumed because of the long-continued war-torn era, though, when Tokugawa Ieyasu entered the territory from the west in 1590, buildings were rebuilt and also the shrine was given the recognition of its possessions.
In 1619, the shrine was removed to the current place from the top of the Godo Mountain.
In 1998, all of 12 buildings on a premise were renewed in commemoration of the 1030th anniversary of foundation, the 770th anniversary of relocation and the 2000th anniversary of foundation of the Ise-Jingu Shrine.
